I, like most of the people here, fell in love with sprites when I first came to this site. I believe that sprites are original in the sense that they are fresh, and new (not meaning the actual sprites though). The claim that sprites are declining in popularity is pretty much stupid as you can see by the vast majority of people's comments, and most of those people who hate them are those who dont understand the concept of originality and dont judge them by their originality in this sense but for having the 8-bit/old school cheap animation. And animating with sprites because of their simplicity is a lie since it takes all the hard work that it would take to make a normal flash just on a smaller scale. Pretty much what im sayin is that the sprites popularity hasnt gone down and people who hate it are just dont know what they talkin bout

oh yeah, those haters are the ones you should listen to, i mean with all those hentai flashes and other random crap they make that get under a score of 2 obviously means that theyre complete experts on whats good and what sucks.
Good note! The only problem with the sprite movies are the lazy ones that are in abundance as opposed to flashes such as 4 Swords Misadventures, Super Mario Bros. Z, or the extremely hilarious Super Mario Land sprites. It's not sprite movies that are unoriginal, the quality is being undercut by poor imitations. Give sprites a chance!

Fine then if they look down apon sprite users for using premade sprites then we could look down apon flash artists that use already existing things in their works (a.k.a mario,snake,george bush, etc.) cause that's as "unoriginal" as people using sprites in my opinion, exactly why is a drawn version of mario versus sonic better then a sprite version? You're using the same jokes as everyone else you just drew it.
Wtf is wrong with doing a good sprite? That means the game (or flash) have fans that appreciates the art of the original author and make a tribute of it. That doesn't mean he's/she's stealing someone's work! God bless the sprites and the authors who made good sprites (like the one who made this post) !!!! >:O. I totally agree. Sprites are just a medium. Just like all other media, you can put in as much or as little effort as you want. I have seen some movies with original animation that clearly had no effort put in, and sprite movies that had tons of effort put in. It all depends on the author.

in my oppinion you are #3 in the top flash artists because you have original stories and i think thats what really makes a good flash. im really glad youve decided to not stop making sprite flashes. i think theyre awesome.

I personally, like Sprite movies, or, at least some, like Rise of the Mushroom Kingdom, your FSMA series, Mario Bros Z, the Sprite TV trilogy, too.
But, I do agree, people need to be more original with sprite movies, I've seen to many that have overused jokes. (Specifically the Mario flashes)
I think people are a bit to picky on what they watch now...

i gotta agree with u hadouken, sprites need some new form of originality. i personally though have not or will start on any projects of my own anytime soon(saving up 700 us dollars for the latest adobe animation software). once i do though i gonna try to give new life to sprite movies.
i currently got no idea how i'm gonna do that *laughing at self as i type this* but i'll see what i can do (once i get the software that is).
one last thing i know of the downloadable version but i rather own then try for 30 days and be stuck midway through a project (wouldn't u????)
Yeah I noticed the same as well. But to be honest, tjey're pretty much gonna be arounf for quite a time, like the Drawn-Flash animations. I'd say for you my friend keep going with it and just forget what anyone else says about "how wrong you are" And "Don't be saying crap about it". That just bugs me entirely. Me, I like all kinds of flash Animations, be it, Drawn or Sprites. So I'd say keep going with it!
maybe if you can make some really funny sprite movies like stv 1, 2, and 3 maybe just maybe they will be more popular beacause your 4 swords misadventures flash is still popular and i think if you make more of them people will like sprite animations a lot again.

I used to love Newgrounds because of the sprite movies. There were always good ones.
However, there are people that don't have original ideas.
As for Sprite TV 3, let's admit it, with the exception of 2 or 3 all of the jokes were unoriginal and unfunny.
Creations like 4 Swords Misadventures or Mushroom Chase by JonBro are the ones with quality and use of good jokes.
We need more original sprite movies. Not just the same retarded joke over and over.

Sprite movies have been declining in popularity because there is no demand therefore if no one really begs and whines about seeing them no one cares. In this day of age what does have high demand is Madness and Egoraptor stuff, funny or violent WITH good cartoon animation is the new thing today.
