Ep.12 coming soon.
I made a special video to commemorate my 20th anniversary as an animator as well as the Anniversary of Four Swords Misadventures. It is my way to thank everyone involved as well as the fans and supporters of my channel and content. I've been through a lot of ups and downs in the process but I am still pushing forward and making the best of things.
You can help support my work on Patreon, Ko-Fi, or by buying a product on Kinhank.
This might come off as a surprise but on this month 20 years ago I started animating in Flash as a hobby, which became a career of sorts for me in later years on YouTube. I just want to come back and say that I am thankful for what Newgrounds has taught me over the years. I knew nothing about animation until I visited the tutorials section here and I became self-taught in Adobe Flash (now Adobe Animate). I did take a few bumps along the way, personal and professional highs and lows, even burnout, but that's part of the learning experience.
I met a lot of friends and fans along the way, some have come and gone, but I am grateful for all of the experience that I got from this site. While Flash is not as mainstream as it used to be years ago, I still use it as my go-to 2D animation software since I feel more comfortable with its UI. I've considered using other animation programs, but part of me just can't let go of Flash. I have dabbled with 3D animation like MMD and have been considering learning Blender, but that feels like a huge challenge compared to what I used to make. Won't hurt to give it a try though.
Anyway, just wanted to thank Tom Fulp and the NG crew for inspiring me to animate all these years. And I hope to continue making content for years to come.
Hey guys, I felt it necessary to post this here since I really need fan support more than ever. I chose to simplify my username on YouTube to VicHD as a way to rebrand myself and my content.
Things have gotten rough for me as of late and I hope others can help me keep the content going. Help spread the word. Thanks! Here's my Patreon.
I know it's been a while since I've been on Newgrounds. A lot of things have happened over the years. Many professional highs and personal lows that I had to deal with. For those unaware, I have been active on my youtube channel for years, but even I had to put that on hold since I spent a good portion of my time working as an English teacher at a local High school where I live. Unfortunately, I was let go from my job during the summer. It sucks, but it was for the best. The students, the parents and some of the teaching staff were all giving me a hard time anyway.
Nevertheless, I'm considering making a comeback to the site, and what better way to make a comeback than to return with another Mortal Kombat parody? This time: "MK Mishaps XXL". I've been working on it sporadically for the past few years and I'm trying to get a good chunk of them done, maybe about 10 or more sketches. I feel like the more Ideas I get, the longer the project takes, so we'll see how it goes. I will upload it to Youtube and Newgrounds as well, so don't worry.
As for "4 Swords Misadventures", I will continue it somehow. I went through some creative burnout over the years, especially after my dad's passing. I thought I could push forward with my projects despite the event, but I needed some time off from the pressure of the fans asking me for more episodes. I've been feeling rusty with my content, so working on some MK shorts was my way to get some of my creativity flowing again.
As of this writing, "4 Swords Ep. 11" is 75% done and available to watch on my channel. Once the final 25% is done, I will upload it here too. I also have episode 12 written down, but it's been on standby for the past few years. Sorry for the delays, but you know how life gets tougher when you get older.
I don't know if sprite movies are still a thing on the site, or if it's still a hot-button debate. Regardless, I'm making new content for my fans. If what I do is not your cup of tea, that's fine. I've met many friends, talented Voice actors, and artists here. Some of them have even worked with me over the years. The last thing I want is to have more enemies.
One last thing, My old freewebs site was deleted years ago due to inactivity. I'm considering opening up a new website in the future if possible.
Hey guys I would like to officially announce a sponsor for my content. So if you want to help me out, this will only take a "tad" bit of your time ;)
I will continue to make more content for NG and YouTube, so don't worry about that. The next episode of Four Swords Misadventures should be ready sometime this month. I'll keep you guys informed.
Tad is the easiest way to support creators you love. Support them by watching a few, high quality ads.
-All ads on Tad are curated by actual humans, no crappy ads
-You pick the type of ads you want to see (movies vs. food)
-You can give feedback on the good ads, skip the bad ones
-This ad experience means you’ll watch way fewer ads and creators will get way more $, starting at $0.03 a view
Note: The current version of the app is available in most countries, but obviously, not all. Tad is currently working on expanding its services in other countries.
Here's a quick FAQ to help clear things up
What is Tad?
Tad is a new way to support content creators on Youtube. Instead of donating cash, Tad allows your fans to donate time (something they likely have more of than cash!).Tad is an app that lets your fans choose to watch a few high quality, high value, video ads on your behalf.
What am I asking my viewers to do?
If you become a Tad creator, you'll ask your fans to support you by watching one or two video ads in a new mobile app called Tad (iOS and Android). Fans will watch video ads within the mobile app on your behalf. This current version of Tad is just a prototype app to get a feel of the flow - the fully redesigned version is in development.
Wait, did you say I'm asking my viewers to watch ads?
Yes. Based on what we've seen, viewers want to support the creators they care about. Some viewers are willing to donate cash (Patreon, tip jars), but many more are willing to watch ads on a creator's behalf.
The way we've structured ads in Tad - easy to use, viewer chooses ad category, gives feedback on ads - is more valuable to advertisers, which means we can send more money to creators and viewers need to watch far fewer ads overall. It's definitely a new approach to ads, which is why having the right creators partnering with Tad is so important to us.
What do I need to do to promote Tad and receive payments?
First of all, you don't need to do much to get started with Tad. We'll give you a Tad URL that will allow your viewers to download Tad and begin watching ads your behalf. You can stick the Tad URL in the description of videos just to get a sense of how many people begin using it. We'll let you know how many people are watching ads for you. We'll also send you weekly ad payments via PayPal or another method you'd like.
That's all for now and be on the lookout for more!
Hey, so what are your thoughts on Four Swords -1, I mean, Triforce Heroes? I actually know one guy who is not a happy camper about it... And yes, Four Swords Misadventures 10 will hopefully be ready before the end of the year. Please give it time.
Update: Give it a bit more time. Hopefully mid to late February. Sorry about the delay.
Hi guys. I haven't posted anything new in a while so I might as well keep you up to date about Four Swords 10.
Episode 10 is currently in production and I am aiming for an October-November release at the very latest. Now, keep in mind that in order to make this episode faster, I decided to make some sacrifices.
You see, ever since Episode 6, I have been including original animation in order to have the best of both worlds (original art and sprites) and please my audience ,which is not an easy task. Despite being well received, it has really delayed each episode's development to a point that there's a 1-2 year gap between epsiodes and for that reason I might have to sacrifice quality. Basically it's either make them faster or make them better . That and voice actors coming, going or even bailing out on me for whatever reason is another issue that causes delays and I lose contact with them . Life gets in the way I guess. I Don't blame them. It happens.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy having original content in my works, but in the last episode, fans pressured me constantly over episode 9 to a point that I had to rush out an incomplete version on YouTube just because the animated ending based on DBGT wasn't ready. At that time, I was in between jobs too which meant I had less time to work on things and rushing a project really rubs me the wrong way.
Now of course, I can ask other talented artists to help me out with original animation, but the key factors here are time, interest and availability to help out, otherwise it will cause more delays like specified above. I'd do it myself, but my artwork is comparable to kindergarden drawings. That's not me saying it, that was a criticism I got after uploading an original drawing in the art portal 3 years ago which I later deleted. I really need to develop my own artstyle.
So what are your thoughts on this? What would be the best decision? Quality or quantity?
Another thing I'd like to bring up is the concept of crowdfunding. Sites like Kickstarter, Indiegogo and Patreon, to name a few, have gotten more popular over the years with a lot of successfully funded projects. I bring this up because I also have a Patreon page. I'm rather new to it and I have gotten paypal donations in the past, so I would like to know if anyone would be interested in funding my work on youtube and Newgrounds.
Now, asking for online donations is a rather touchy subject, though I should point out that me living in a third world country with high inflation and getting layed off from an office job a few months back has affected me recently, so the only thing I got left is my internet content. Which is why I'm getting back on track with making more flashes.
Of course, this is all up to you if you want to help. This is totally optional. if you're not interested that's ok. I would appreciate it if you spread the word to help me keep going.
Anyone here still have Smash Bros. Brawl or Mariokart wii by any chance? You see, ever since I heard about a mod for it called Project M,I decided to install it and I also discovered that there are still online servers available for it via the Homebrew Channel. Once the HBC is installed in your sd card (perferably a 2Gb card), download and install an app called Wiimmfi in the card and activate it on your console to get on the server.
Now, the only drawback is that for it to work on Brawl, you need to delete your save data to reset your friend code... It's risky but it's worth it to play online.if you know a way to back up your save file before doing this, then great. Just follow the steps carefully to install these features and it should work properly as long as you dont downgrade or install patched updates. I take no responsibility if your wii gets f it doesn't work (aka Bricked). Again just be careful. I would strongly recommend a video tutorial through Youtube just in case.
there is also another server called altwfc but I haven't gotten it to work properly yet.
from what I have seen first hand, MarioKart wii online is either really competitive or very cheap. Brawl Project M has worked for me through wimmfi ,though with minor lag which syncs up after a few seconds during battle but the important thing is that its still functional. which is why I am issuing an open challenge to anyone out there who has it installed. For those who want to play against me online through the Wii, my friend code for ssbb is 3098-3772-0715, for Mariokart is 3527-8739-3705
feel free to add me for a challenge. :D
See you there!
P.S. before you ask, I still don't have a wii u or 3DS just yet. Planning on saving up for it ;)
